Saw that in my sub box – dare I ask what sorts of frustration you ran into with the Astronomy tower?

Oh, I was having issues with the written dimensions not matching up with what I was seeing visually. Turns out I had the blueprints’ sizing within the model a little wrong. All fixed now!

Can’t wait to see it – and the tour was really good too.

Back in 2012 I had a similar obsession so I studied the movies, models, maps, and modeled the Half-Blood Prince castle in Maya. Different from you my renders weren’t nearly as beautiful, complete, and ultimately I abandoned the project. It gives me so much joy to see your progress and compare different castle versions with all the details! Looking forward to more landscape (Hagrids, Quidditch pitch, and gates?), HBP and DH versions. Thank you for taking us with you on your journey!

An awesome video as usual! I was wondering (because I went back and watched the Philosopher’s Stone Hogwarts tour that you did) if you had any bird’s-eye-view pictures of where the quidditch pitch sits in relation to the training grounds/ruins (and the rest of Hogwarts in general). I’m curious how far away it sits and at roughly what angle. Anyway, keep up the awesome work, I can’t wait to see your astronomy tower!

Here’s a plan view of that COS photogrammetry you saw in that video:
(I’ve roughly completed the perimeter of the pitch with the red dashed line; the ends aren’t in the photogrammetry because they aren’t seen well enough in that shot.)
